Two To Appear In Court Following £400,000 Cannabis Seizure

A man and woman are to appear in court after £400,000 worth of cannabis was seized on the M2 and in Newtownards.

£200,000 drugs were found after police stopped and searched a car on the M2.

Searches also took place in the Shore Road area of Belfast and in Newtownards as part of the investigation.

A 52-year-old woman was arrested and is to appear at Coleraine Magistrates court today, 21 March.

A 33-year-old man was also charged and is to appear at Laganside Magistrates court today, 21 March.

All charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

Two men appear in court charged with attempted murder
Two men have appeared in court today charged with the attempted murder after a taxi driver in Co Down last weekend. The driver was shot in his vehicle after dropping off a fare in the Westwinds estate of Newtownards at around 12 midnight on Saturday. He sustained a number of gunshot wounds to his chest.

Pair Charged With Portaferry Murder
Two men have been charged with the murder of a man who was assaulted in Portaferry over a week ago. Ryan Macrae was attacked at Church Street in the Co Down town shortly before 1am on Sunday 14 October. The 32-year-old was admitted to hospital but died 10 days later.

Man Charged Over Robbery At Fast-Food Outlet In Newtownards
A man is to appear in court after being charged in connection with a robbery at a fast-food outlet in Newtownards, Co Down. Police charged the man, aged 28, with two counts of robbery, one count of attempted robbery and three counts of possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.
