Woman pensioner tied up during robbery

A pensioner has been treated for shock after being tied up during a robbery at her home in east Belfast last night.

The 78-year-old woman was confronted by three masked youths as she slept in the living room of her home at Chesham Grove at around 10pm on Thursday.

The youths tied the woman's ankles together as they ransacked her home, however, the woman was eventually able to free herself before raising an alarm with a neighbour.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them immediately.

Elsewhere, a number of cars have been vandalised in a village in Co Down.

The incident involved three vehicles on William Street, Donaghcloney shortly after 6.30am on Friday.

A number of items were also stolen during the incident.

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.
