Pensioner robbed in her County Down home

Police in County Down have appealed for information following a robbery at the home of an 87-year-old woman in the early hours of this morning.

The incident happened at around 12.30am, when the woman was wakened by three men who had entered her bedroom in her home in the Belfast Road area of Comber.

One of the men pushed the pensioner, before all three made off with an undisclosed sum of cash.

The woman was uninjured during the incident, however was left badly shaken by her ordeal.

Detectives investigating the robbery have asked for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information in connection with it, to contact them in Newtownards on 0845 600 8000 or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Woman pensioner tied up during robbery
A pensioner has been treated for shock after being tied up during a robbery at her home in east Belfast last night. The 78-year-old woman was confronted by three masked youths as she slept in the living room of her home at Chesham Grove at around 10pm on Thursday.
