'Object Of Interest' Found During Exhumation Of Daniel Rooney
An "object of interest" has been found during the exhumation of Daniel Rooney at Milltown Cemetery in west Belfast, according to the PSNI.
Mr Rooney, 18, was killed by soldiers from the Military Reaction Force (MRF) on 26 September in 1972.
The teenager's body has been removed to allow forensic work to be carried out.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil McGuinness said: "However, at this stage, we can confirm that we have found an object of interest that will be submitted for further forensic tests in due course.
"We are continuing to liaise with the family in relation to this and will keep them informed of any further developments."

Suspicious Object Found In Co Antrim Declared A Hoax
A suspicious object found in Co Antrim has been declared a hoax. The Mill Road in Newtownabbey has been reopened. Elsewhere, a suspicious object discovered on the Lisburn Road in south Belfast was also declared a hoax. The road reopened at around 4.20am on Wednesday, 13 July. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

A suspicious object found in L'Derry has sparked a security alert. The object was discovered in the Drumleck Drive area just after 8am on Wednesday, 02 May. A number of people have been evacuated from their homes and police officers have sealed off the area. The residents are being accommodated in the Shantallow Community Centre.

Suspicious Object Found In West Belfast
A road in west Belfast has been closed following the discovery of a suspicious object. The Springfield Road has been closed and diversions have been put in place at the junction of Springfield Road, West Circular Road and Pollard Street. The PSNI are currently at the scene. No further details have been released.

Police and Army bomb disposal experts attended the scene and the object caws declared a hoax. The area was sealed off, however it has since been reopened.
