Funeral for murdered pensioner takes place
The funeral for murdered pensioner Ted O'Hare who was found dead at his Co Down home last weekend has taken place today.
The 73-year-old's body was discovered by his three brothers at their farmhouse on the Tullymore Road, in Loughbrickland last Saturday.
Police have confirmed they are treating the death of Mr O'Hare as murder.
It is believed that Mr O'Hare's brothers were confronted by five masked men as they returned home from mass at around 8pm on the night in question.
The gang assaulted the men before ransacking the house and fleeing. It was then that the brother's found Ted's body.
Police said today that they had received preliminary results from a post-mortem examination and that they would be distributing leaflets throughout the area this weekend to try to jog people's memories about the incident.
