Eight police officers injured in disturbances

Eight police officers have been injured and three people arrested following disturbances in north Belfast on Friday morning.

Police said that up to 20 people had been involved in an attack on officers called to the Cavehill Road area at about 2am.

The incident occurred as officers responded to a call of disturbances in the area. When they arrived they were attacked by the crowd who proceeded to break windows, damage cars and overturn bins.

A spokesman for the Police Ombudsman's office confirmed that the incident was being investigated.

Eleven officers injured during disturbances
Eleven police officers have been injured following disturbances in north Belfast yesterday evening. The incident happened at around 7pm, when a stolen car was in collision with a police Land Rover in the New Lodge Road area of the city. Four police officers were injured.

Shots Fired In Bangor Disturbances
Six people have been struck with baton rounds as police responded to gunshots fired at officers during a disturbance in Bangor, County Down. Up to 200 people were involved in the disturbances in the Kilcooley Estate on Wednesday night and police have said that shots were fired at officers.

Police re-appeal for information following disturbances
Police investigating disturbances in east Belfast last month have re-appealed for information. At the height of the disturbances in the Cluan Place and Clandeboye Gardens area on the 20th and 21st August, up to 200 people were involved in rioting.
