Renewed Appeal For Information On Murder Of Brian McIlhagga
Police have issued a fresh appeal for information on the death of Brian McIlhagga, who died following a "brutal" attack on 05 January, 2015.
Mr McIlhagga was attacked by a group of masked men at a friends house in Riverside Park, Ballymoney, three years ago today. The gang "brutally" assaulted Mr McIlhagga before shooting him in the leg.
Mr McIhagga died at the scene.
Detective Chief Inspector Michael Harvey described Mr McIlhagga's death as "vicious and brutal" and that he had met with a "savage end".
A number of arrests have been made over the course of the investigation, but no one has yet been charged in connection with the murder.
DCI Harvey said that police believe that people in the community can help "bring the killers to justice".
"I believe there are people out there who have information about the men behind the masks, and those involved in this murder," DCI Harvey said.
"I would urge those people to think about the information they hold, and to do the right thing. I urge them to think 'what if this was your loved one?'
"No matter how small or insignificant you think this information might be, please come forward — it could make a difference and bring those responsible for the murder of Brian McIlhagga before the courts, and some much-needed justice for Brian McIlhagga and his loved ones."
Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the Riverview Park area between 10pm and 11pm on Monday, 05 January 2015. Anyone with any information can contact detectives at Maydown police station on the non-emergency number 101.
Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.

Two men, aged 45 and 41, were detained after police carried out searches and seized a number of items on Tuesday, 18 July.
