Magilligan Prisoner Dies In Custody
An investigation has been launched into the death of a prisoner in a Northern Ireland jail.
The 27-year-old died on Monday 04 February in hospital.
He was an in-mate at Magilligan in County L'Derry.
The PSNI, Coroner and Priosoner Ombudsman have launched investigations into the death, as is standard procedure.
Ronnie Armour, Director General of the Northern Ireland Prison Service said: "On behalf of the Northern Ireland Prison Service, I would like to extend my sympathy to the family of the prisoner. My thoughts are with them at this difficult time."

A 53-year-old has reportedly died in custody at Maghaberry Prison, the Northern Ireland Prison Service has announced. The Department of Justice has reported that the prisoner died on Saturday 28 August, that his next of kin have been informed and that the death was not covid related.
