PSNI To Investigate 'Deliberate' County Tyrone Fire

An investigation has been launched into a "deliberate fire" at a derelict building last night, 10 February.

The blaze happened at around 10pm at a premises in the Derry Road area of Strabane.

The fire service have since confirmed that it was started on purpose.

Sergeant James McLaughlin appealed to anyone who was in the area on Sunday evening, or prior to when the fire was reported and has any information that they believe could assist the investigation to call the non-emergency line quoting reference number 1249 of the 10/02/19.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous.

NIFRS Launches Online Home Fire Safety Check Tool
The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) has introduced a new online tool to help residents assess their home fire safety. The Home Fire Safety Check coincides with Fire Safety Week, which runs from September 30th to October 6th. The initiative aims to reduce the number of house fires in Northern Ireland.

Investigation Launched After Nine Kegs Of Beer Stolen In Co Armagh
Police have launched an investigation after nine full kegs of beer were stolen from a pub in Co Armagh. The kegs were taken from The Old Dyke Inn in Poyntzpass between 2.30pm on Monday, 27 November, and 9pm on Tuesday, 28 November. A suitably sized vehicle would have been needed to remove the kegs, according to the PSNI.
