Pipe Bomb Explodes In Craigavon
A young family have escaped injury after a pipe bomb exploded at a house in Craigavon.
Police received a report at around 11.45pm on Saturday evening, 16 February, prompting a security alert in the Enniskeen area of the town.
A second pipe-bomb device was also discovered.
A female and a number of young children in the house at the time were not injured, and no damage was caused to the property.
ATO were tasked to the scene, with the remnants of the device declared as viable.
Residents in the area were evacuated but have since returned to their homes.
PSNI Detective Sergeant Foley said: "This was a reckless attack by those responsible, and we are extremely fortunate that we are not dealing with any serious injuries, or worse today.
"Anyone could have picked up these potentially deadly devices, and those behind the attack have clearly no regard for the safety of the others.
"I want to thank all those who were affected by the alert for their patience as we worked to make the scene safe. I appreciate the disruption this caused to residents who had to leave their homes, however, keeping people safe is our priority and we will not take any chances."
Detectives in Lurgan are appealing for witnesses following the incident, and urge anyone who was in the area on Saturday evening and saw any suspicious activity to contact them on non-emergency line 101, quoting reference number 1611 of 16/02/2019.

'Viable Device' Found In Newtownabbey
A 'viable device' has been found in Newtownabbey in the midst of a security alert. The device was discovered in the Cherrylands/Cloughfern area shortly after 06:00 this morning. The area was cordoned off as army bomb experts examined the device and carried out a controlled explosion.

Police have declared a security alert in Londonderry was the result of a "viable pipe bomb type device". The alert began with reports of a "loud bang" outside a house in Bann Drive at about 11.15pm on Tuesday, 17 July. It is understood that a man and woman were in the house at the time of the incident but escaped uninjured.

The PSNI have renewed their appeal for information after an explosive device packed with nails was thrown at a property in east Belfast. The "crudely-made" device was thrown at a property in the Bloomfield Road area on Friday, 18 May. The device partially exploded and a woman who was in the house at the time was not injured but was left shaken.

Viable Pipe Bomb Found In West Belfast
A viable pipe bomb has been discovered during a security alert in west Belfast. The device was found in the Andersonstown area on Saturday night, 15 July. A number of residents had to be evacuated from their homes, however they have since returned. The device was made safe and has been retaken for further examination.
