Nora Quoirin: Fingerprints Examined As Search Continues
Malaysian police searching for a missing schoolgirl from London, whose mother is originally from Belfast, are analysing fingerprints lifted from the family's holiday cottage.
Nora Quoirin's parents reported her missing on Sunday morning when they awoke to discover she was not in her bedroom. The window had been left open, sparking fears that the 15-year-old, who has special needs, was abducted.
Police have not ruled out foul play in their investigation and are reported to have questioned over 20 people so far.
Fingerprints found on a window panel in the nature reserve cottage where the family have been staying are understood to be of interest to police. The resort is around one hour's journey south of Kuala Lumpur.
The Quoirin family arrived for their holiday on Saturday evening and last saw Nora when heading to bed just hours after checking in.
The disappearance sparked a massive search effort with police personnel and sniffer dogs trawling the surrounding jungle area while helicopters and drones scour 12 acres of land.
It is understood that Nora had travelled to Malaysia on an Irish passport.
