Co Armagh Community In Shock Following Murder Of Baby

The murder of an 11 month-old baby has left the Co Armagh community of Keady in shock.

Alliance representative for the area Jackie Coade said the death of 11 month-old Hunter McGleenon has caused distress throughout the entire community.

"That the police are now treating his death as murder compounds that shock," the Alliance Westminster candidate said.

"I offer my deepest sympathies to Hunter's family at this tragic time. This is a tragedy no parent should ever have to go through and I pray for strength for them at this time.

"If anyone has any information about this tragedy, I would urge them to pass it to the police immediately on the 101 number or anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111 so Hunter's family can see justice."

Young People Lead Climate Strike In L'Derry

Young people across Northern Ireland are leading the way in a climate strike in L'Derry today, 29 November.

The global strike is taking place at Guildhall Square from 1pm.

SDLP Leader Colum Eastwood, who is taking part in the strike, commended the young people for taking action.

The Foyle MLA said: "It is fitting that young people are leading the charge, they will be here after we have gone and they have a real opportunity to do something no other generation has done in history; to leave the world in a better condition than they got it in.

"We should be doing everything possible to help them achieve this but sadly some important legislative changes required to strengthen environment protection here in Northern Ireland cannot be made in the absence of an Assembly.

"The time for action is now. The SDLP is prepared to invest in bold initiatives to repair the damage we've done to our natural environment. Action on climate change will be a key part of our agenda at Westminster and at home."

"The Workshop is the ideal way for any youngsters to get involved in Christmas activities before Santa Claus' arrival in homes across the City and District this Christmas Eve."
