Storm Brendan Batters NI
Parts of Northern Ireland are being battered by gales of up to 80mph as Storm Brendan rages.
Local transport routes and airports are facing disruption this afternoon, Monday 13 January, with some communities also without power.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning.
Police have closed the Belfast Road, Carrickfergus at the junctions with Sloefield Road and the Albert Road after part of the sea wall collapsed. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
The Portaferry Road in Co Down has also been closed due to large waves and spray, while the Rubane Road in Kircubbin is closed due to a fallen tree.
Further road closures are in place across counties Antrim, Down, L'Derry and Armagh, full details of which are available here.
Meanwhile, Belfast International Airport has warned of some disruption to flights this afternoon. Anyone due to fly today is advised to contact their airline for the latest updates.
Belfast City Council has advised that all local parks have been closed from 10am as a precaution. Residents are reminded that bin crews are out for collection amid the stormy weather, but the council has asked that all bins are returned to a secure space as soon as possible.
