Pipe Bomb Attack On House 'Reckless'

The "reckless" actions of those who threw a pipe bomb at a house in east Belfast have been condemned.

Alliance Councillor Michael Long hit out after a fire ignited at a house on the Carncaver Road when the device was launched at it on Monday night, 02 March.

No one was inside the property at the time.

Councillor Long said: "Whoever threw this pipe bomb were totally reckless. They did not know if there was anyone in the house in Carncaver Road and obviously did not care who could have been killed or injured.

"I condemn this attack in the strongest possible terms and call on anyone with information to pass it to the police, so those responsible can be brought before the courts."

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information relevant to the investigation can reach detectives at Strandtown road station on 101 quoting reference 1925 of 02/02/30.
