Appeal Issued Following Armed Robbery In South Belfast
Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in south Belfast on Sunday, 28 November.
The incident occurred in the Elm Street area at around 8.30pm.
Detective Sergeant O’Flaherty said: "A woman, who is partially sighted, was approached by two males. One of the men pulled a knife and threatened the woman and her dog, demanding money.
"The woman, who is aged in her 60s, handed over her purse, which contained a sum of money.
"This was a despicable and utterly cowardly act, which has left the victim understandably traumatised.
"I am appealing to members of the public to contact us with any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem. Please call 101 quoting reference number 1389 of 30/11/21."
Police Issue Appeal For Information After Collision In Newry
The PSNI are appealing for information following a road traffic collision in Newry on Tuesday, 30 November.
Inspector Frances McCullough said: "The collision took place just after 6pm in the Armagh Road area.
"It involved a black Land Rover and a male pedestrian.
"The pedestrian, aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital by colleagues from Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, where he remains in a critical condition.
"The road, which was closed following the incident, has since re-opened.
"I am appealing to anyone with information, and in particular anyone who may have captured dash cam footage, to contact us on 101 quoting reference 1437 of 30/11/21."
Additional Funding For Greenways Welcomed
Sinn Féin MLA Liz Kimmins has welcomed additional funding for Greenways across Northern Ireland.
The Newry and Armagh MLA stated: "I welcome an additional £2 million for Councils to assist them with active travel schemes and greenway projects.
"I'm also delighted that this includes money for a number of greenways within the Newry area.
"Sinn Féin have been pushing for more money for greenways and cycle lanes to encourage safe active travel.
"Cycling can improve a person's mental and physical health while reducing pollution and carbon emissions. To achieve this we need safe places for cyclists.
"We need to embrace green transport and I will continue to call for Active Travel to be a priority moving forward."

Police are appealing for information following a burglary in south Belfast on Sunday. Money and jewellery were stolen from an elderly couple's home in Thalia Street while they were staying with friends. The couple returned later that day to discover the break-in.
