Man Charged With Downpatrick Murder
A 36-year-old man has been charged with murder in connection with a fatal stabbing in Downpatrick.
A 28-year-old man was stabbed during an attack on Church Street in the Co Down town at 11am on Monday, 03 January.
The victim was treated by paramedics but was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect was arrested a short time later. He has since been charged with murder and possession of a weapon.
He will appear before Newtownards Magistrates' Court later today, via video link.

A 35-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. The victim, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition after being assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. The suspect is due to appear at Coleraine Magistrates' Court on Monday, 17 October.

A man charged with attempted murder has died in custody. 42-year-old James Carlisle, from the Harbour Road in Kilkeel, was due to appear in court next week. It is understood his death is not being treated as suspicious.

A 44-year-old Armagh man has appeared in court in connection with two counts of attempted murder. Colm Joseph McGurk, of Lower English Street, appeared before Newry Magistrates’ Court accused of the attempted murder of Patrick and Eisha McGurk on Saturday.

Man due in court charged with attempted murder
A 34-year-old man is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court charged with attempted murder. The charge relates to an attack on a 50-year-old man in east Belfast, on Tuesday. Police received a report at around 10.30pm on Tuesday night that a man had been seriously assaulted on the Greenville Road in the Beersbridge Road area of the city.
