Four men charged (HOLD)

Four people are expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Tuesday on charges in connection with the murder of a man in north Belfast at the weekend.

THe body of 28-year-old Thomas Venus was discovered close to the Midland Building on York Street on Saturday morning.

Police believe there was no sectarian motive or paramilitary involvement in the killing.

31-year-old north Belfast murder victim Conor McKee was shot a number of times, police have revealed. Mr McKee was found dead by his mother at his Glenpark Street home last Thursday night. Two men arrested over the murder have been released on bail.

Police have held two men on suspicion of attempted murder following an attack in north Belfast. The incident occurred in the Woodvale Drive area on Sunday morning. The suspects, aged 26 and 32, were arrested after being treated in hospital for their injuries.

Man Charged With Attempted Murder
A man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with an attack in Newry on St Patrick's Day in 2012. A 31-year-old man was assaulted by two men in the Monaghan Street area on Saturday, 17 March, four years ago. The suspect is to appear before Armagh Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, 18 October.
