Hamish Harding On Board Missing Submarine

British billionaire Hamish Harding has been confirmed to be on board the submarine which has gone missing which was travelling to take people to see the wreck of the Titanic.

Harding is the Chairman of private plane company Action Aviation.

Mr Harding's stepson Brian Szasz, wrote on Facebook: "Thoughts and prayers for my stepfather Hamish Harding as his Submarine has gone missing exploring Titanic. Search and rescue mission is underway."

The US Coast Guard said the vessel has five people on board and warned that the search, taking place approximately 900 miles east off Cape Cod, has been "challenging" due to the remote location.

In a statement OceanGate Expeditions said: "We are exploring and mobilizing all options to bring the crew back safely.

"Our entire focus is on the crewmembers in the submersible and their families. We are deeply thankful for the extensive assistance we have received from several government

agencies and deep sea companies in our efforts to reestablish contact with the submersible.

"We are working toward the safe return of the crew members."
