Man Attacked With Bottle Of Bleach In Coleraine
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a report of an assault in Coleraine town centre.
An investigation has been launched after a bottle of bleach was poured over a man, aged in his 20s, in the Church Street area of the town.
It is understood that at around 2.20pm on Wednesday, 2nd August, a man entered a commercial premises in the area and purchased a bottle of bleach.
When he exited the premises he poured the contents of the bleach bottle over a man who was in the nearby area.
First aid was provided to the man at the scene, and hospital treatment was not required.
Inspector Craig said: "Officers attended and arrested a 68-year-old man on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, using corrosive with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and attempted grievous bodily harm with intent.
"He remains in custody at this time, assisting officers with their enquiries.
"I would appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened or has any information that could help with our investigation to contact us on 101, quoting reference 982 of 02/08/23."

Appeal Following City Centre Attack
Detectives in Belfast have appealed for information following an incident during which an 18-year-old man was struck in the face with a broken bottle in the early hours of yesterday morning. Initial enquiries suggest that the man was in a taxi in the area of St George's Market at around 12.30am when a group of youths approached the vehicle.

Man Hit On Head With Glass Bottle In Lisburn
Police have launched an investigation after a man was hit on the back of his head with a glass bottle in Lisburn. The incident happened in the Sloan and Young Street area at around 2.45am on Sunday, 16 October. The condition of the victim is unknown. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

A man has been seriously injured and another man arrested in what has been described as a "road rage" incident in Londonderry. The assault happened in the Waterside area of the city, when the two motorists entered into a dispute near the Craigavon Bridge.
