Appeal Issued After Masked Men Rob East Belfast Shop
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information following a report of a robbery in east Belfast this morning, Wednesday 13th December.
At around 6.15am, it was reported to police that two men, with their faces covered, robbed a shop in the Ballygowan Road area.
It was reported that the men entered the shop, tied two staff members' hands together with cable ties and forced them to sit at the back of the shop. The men then filled bags with a large quantity of cigarettes and a sum of cash, before making off.
Making the appeal, Detective Sergeant McCartan said: "One of the men was described as wearing a high visibility jacket with a light coloured hoodie. The second man was described as wearing a dark coloured hoodie and a dark coloured hat.
"While the staff members were not injured, they have been left badly shaken following the incident.
"Our investigation is underway and anyone with any information, or who was in the area at the time the incident took place is asked to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 186 of 13/12/23.
"If someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Police Appeal Following Shop Raid
Police in Co Down have appealed for information following a robbery at a shop in Dundrum. The incident happened at a premises on Main Street shortly after 5am this morning (5 January). Three men are thought to have been involved in the robbery. Two are said to have entered the shop and stole a quantity of cigarettes, as well as cash from the tills.

Businesses Damaged By Blaze In Portstewart
An investigation has launched after a number of businesses were damaged by a blaze in The Diamond in Portstewart. The alarm was raised at 5am on Monday, however fire crews were called back at around 9.30am. A chip shop, coffee shop and hairdressers were damaged as a result. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.

Shop Worker Attacked In L'Derry
Police are appealing for information after a shop worker was attacked and threatened in L'Derry. The incident happened at a shop on the Temple Road in Strathfoyle Village at around 9.30pm on Saturday, 14 July. The worker was hit on the head and threatened at knifepoint. Paramedics treated the victim at the scene.
