Investigation Launches After Thefts And Attempted Thefts In Bangor
Detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward following a series of thefts and attempted thefts from businesses in Bangor.
The thefts reportedly occurred between 12.45am and 1.50am in various locations within Balloo Industrial Estate on Sunday 30 June.
A Detective Sergeant said: "The first report was around 00.45am when three men in a dark-coloured vehicle were observed attempting to cut padlocks to a caravan sales yard. They made off from this scene to a business in Balloo Drive.
"Again, an attempt was made to access the site by cutting the fence but it does not appear that they accessed the yard. The vehicle was then parked behind a substation and entry was forced to a gate before a trailer, valued at around £2400, was stolen."
The spokesperson then gave details of another business being targeted.
"Shortly after 1am, they moved to another business where they damaged a CCTV camera and gained entry to the shop by smashing glass in a front door. They stole a sum of cash. The three then got back into the vehicle and stopped at a car wash premises, breaking a window of a building and ransacking inside
"At around 1.50am, the vehicle stopped in Balloo Crescent and a second trailer - this time, a three-axle trailer valued at around £11,000 - was stolen. It was hooked onto a vehicle and they made off. I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anyone suspicious in the area, either around the time of the thefts or in the days beforehand, to get in touch on 101 quoting reference 538 29/06/24."
