Police Continue To Investigate Death Of Man In Strabane
PSNI detectives investigating the death of a man in Strabane have named the victim as Kyle McDermot.
The 24-year-old man from Ballymagorry died following an altercation, which took place on the night of Sunday 6 October in the Victoria Road area.
Detective inspector Hazel Miller said: "A young man’s life has been cut short, and a loving family are now left trying come to terms with their grief. My thoughts are with them at this distressing time."
Detective Inspector Miller continued: "Our investigation is still in the early stages, and I want to take this opportunity to reiterate my earlier appeal for anyone with information to come forward. "If you were in, or perhaps driving along, the Victoria Road area of Ballymagorry last night between 6pm and midnight, and noticed an altercation or anything untoward, please contact us. In particular, I’m asking you to check any footage, including dash cam footage, that you may have captured. Contact us on 101, quoting reference 1670 of 06/10/24."
She continued: "A 24-year-man arrested in connection with the investigation remains in custody at this time."

Man Found With 'Serious Injuries' Dies In Hospital
A man found with serious injuries at his home in Newtownards has died in hospital. Police have named the man as 71-year-old John Trolan. He was discovered at his house in Mark Street area at approximately 10.30am on Thursday, 8 June. He was treated at the scene before being taken by ambulance to hospital. It is understood he died over the weekend.

Cannabis Factory Uncovered In Co L'Derry
A cannabis factory has been uncovered in Co L'Derry. Cannabis plants, worth an estimated street value of £115,000, were recovered after detectives searched a property in the Deramore Heights area of Magherafelt. No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.

Man Arrested In Connection With Organised Crime In Enniskillen
A 37-year-old man has been arrested in Enniskillen in relation to organised crime. Detectives made the arrest yesterday, Wednesday 07 July, on suspicion of a number of offences; including being concerned in the supply of Class A controlled drugs and conspiring to fraudulently import Class A controlled drugs.

Methodist Church Damaged In Arson Attack
Police have launched an investigation following a fire at a church in south Belfast. The attack happened at Cairnshill Methodist Church on the Ballylenaghan Road last Thursday night. A number of fires were started within the building and damage was caused in several rooms. A motive for the incident has yet to be established.

Two Charged With Murdering Owen Creaney
Two people have been charged with the murder of Owen Creaney. Mr Creaney, 40, who has been described as "frail and vulnerable" by police, was found in a wheelie bin at a property in the Craigavon area on Saturday (5 July). Following the discovery, detectives arrested a man, aged 27, and a 23-year-old woman in connection with the incident.
