Man Seriously Injured In Newry Burglary

Police are investigating a serious assault that occurred in Newry on Monday, 16th December.

Two men, disguised with umbrellas and high-visibility vests, forced their way into a property on Patrick Street around 4pm. A 30-year-old man inside the house was seriously injured in an altercation.

The victim sustained a serious arm injury, believed to be caused by a sharp object, as well as extensive bruising. He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Detectives are appealing to anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.

Detective Sergeant Johnston said: "Enquiries are continuing, and we are making a specific appeal for information regarding the two possible suspects.

"We want to hear from you if you noticed two men in the area between 3.45pm and 4.30pm yesterday, Monday 16th December, who were understood to be masked.

"The umbrellas they were carrying were large and black - one of which had red writing on it.

"We are especially keen to hear from anyone who may have CCTV, dash-cam or other footage of the area during this time. Please phone us on 101, quoting reference number 1495 16/12/24."

Man Seriously Injured Following Attack In Belfast
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked in a car park in Belfast. The incident happened off Castle Street in Ballymoney on Sunday at around 1.30am. A 25 year-old-man is currently being treated in hospital with a serious head injury. A 22-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

Teenager Seriously Assaulted In Aggravated Burglary
Police have issued an appeal for information following an aggravated burglary in Carrickfergus, County Antrim. A 19-year-old man was attacked with baseball bats and a hammer when a number of masked men forced their way into a house on Whinfield Walk at about 10pm on Sunday, 29 July.
