Man Jailed For Rural Burglaries And Thefts In Ballymena
A man has been sentenced in Antrim Crown Court for a series of burglaries and thefts from rural properties in the Ballymena area.
Samuel Todd, 39, was sentenced on Thursday, 06 March, for 18 burglaries, 11 thefts, one count of criminal damage, and one count of attempted burglary.
He received a sentence of four years and six months, with half to be served in custody and the other half on license. Todd was arrested on 16 July 2022, following reports of numerous burglaries and thefts from properties in the Ballymena area between June 2022 and April 2023. The estimated losses to the victims exceeded £80,000.
Police stated that the sentencing "offers reassurance that we remain committed to disrupting the activities of those involved with criminality and will use what means possible to bring people before the courts."
They urged anyone who believes they are a victim of crime to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.

Police have said that sometime between 8pm on Monday 30th January and shortly after 3:40am on Tuesday 31st January, it was reported that entry was gained to a commercial premises in the Mill Street area.
