PSNI Advice Ahead Of Events And Parades In L'Derry
Road users in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area are being advised of potential traffic disruptions due to a series of planned events and parades taking place from this evening, Thursday 8th May, through to Sunday 11th May.
Events are scheduled in Newtownstewart, Donemana, Strabane, Castlederg, Plumbridge, and L'Derry. Police will be present at some of these events to assist with any traffic management issues that may arise.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys if travelling in or through these areas during the specified times.
Schedule of Events:
Thursday 8th May:
• Strabane: A ceremony will take place at the War Memorial between 6:50 pm and 7:30 pm.
• Newtownstewart: A ceremony is scheduled at the War Memorial between 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm.
• Donemana: A parade is due to take place between 7:30 pm and 9:00 pm.
Saturday 10th May: • Plumbridge & Castlederg: Darkness into Light walks are planned in both areas, starting at 4:15 am and expected to conclude by 5:30 am.
Sunday 11th May:
• Castlederg: A parade is expected to commence around 1:30 pm from Albert Street car park. The route will include Lower Strabane Road, Main Street, John Street, and William Street for a church service at 2:00 pm. At 3:00 pm, the parade will leave from this location, proceeding along William Street, The Diamond, Main Street, McCay Court, and back to Albert Street car park for dispersal at approximately 4:00 pm.
• Waterside area of Derry/Londonderry: At approximately 3:10 pm, parade participants will proceed along Carlin Terrace and Glendermott Road onto Clooney Terrace for a church service at 3:30 pm. At around 4:30 pm, participants will leave, moving along Clooney Terrace onto Carlin Terrace for dispersal at approximately 5:00 pm.

Around 40 representatives of several major employers will travel to England to discuss the draft EU withdrawal agreement, in a move seen as a show of support for the deal.

Church of Ireland Archbishop Robin Eames, Catholic Primate Archbishop Sean Brady, Dr Russell Birney of the Presbyterian Church and Methodist President the Reverend Winston Graham all described their meeting as "positive".

Police Investigate Potential Link Between Ards And Killyleagh Burglaries
Detectives are investigating two recent burglaries that took place in Newtownards and Killyleagh on Tuesday evening, 22nd April, and are exploring the possibility that they are linked. A PSNI spokesperson stated that the first report was received at approximately 10:40 pm concerning a burglary in the South Street area of Newtownards.

Work Starts On Road Improvement Projects In Co Armagh
Contractors have started work on £170,000 road improvement projects in Tandragee, Co Armagh. The schemes are taking place at Irish Street Richhill and Gilford Street. They involve the resurfacing of 1km of roads and where appropriate the reinstatement of footways and verges. To facilitate the schemes, temporary road closures will be in place.
