Maguiresbridge Murder: Appeal For Information
Detectives from the PSNI's Major Investigation Team are continuing their enquiries into the tragic shooting incident in Maguiresbridge on Wednesday, 23 July, which led to the deaths of 45-year-old Vanessa Whyte, her son James Rutledge, 14, and daughter Sara Rutledge, 13. A man from the same household was also seriously injured in the incident.
As the investigation progresses, police are making a specific appeal for public assistance regarding the movements of a particular vehicle. Detective Chief Inspector Neil McGuinness said: "Our investigation is ongoing and we are working tirelessly to determine the exact circumstances of this tragedy. I would continue to appeal generally for anyone with information to come forward and more specifically I would ask anyone who saw a silver Mercedes saloon car being driven in the Clones Road area of Newtownbutler, or between Maguiresbridge and Newtownbutler, on the evening of Tuesday, 22 July, to call detectives on 101, quoting reference 276 23/07/25. Anyone who was travelling in the area and who may have captured dash-cam footage which could assist, please get in touch."
A report can also be made using the online reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.

Justice Minister Pledges Stronger Cyber Crime Laws
Justice Minister Naomi Long has pledged to "take every possible opportunity to strengthen the law" regarding cyber crime, after visiting the PSNI Cyber Crime Centre. The Minister emphasised her determination to ensure the PSNI and other criminal justice agencies possess the necessary tools to combat the growing harm caused by online offences.
