Teenage in critical condition following stabbing

Police in North Belfast have appealed for information after a teenage boy was stabbed at the weekend.

The incident occurred at Cliftonville Avenue shortly before 2am on Saturday when two groups of youths got involved in a fracas. The resulting melee saw the boy, who is believed to be in his mid-teens, get stabbed.

He was taken to hospital with a serious stab wound to his stomach and is still said to be in a critical condition.

Detectives are working to establish a motive for the attack; however, it is not believed to be sectarian.

Pedestrian Injured In Belfast Hit-and-Run
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident in the Botanic Avenue area of Belfast in the early hours of Thursday morning. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1.30am after a male pedestrian was struck by a maroon Mazda. Despite being injured, the pedestrian left the area before police arrived.

Two men die in separate stabbing incidents
Two people have been killed in separate stabbing incidents in Northern Ireland over the weekend. Hugh McKibben, 51, of Main Street in Carrowdore died in a stabbing incident at a house on Inisharoan Court about midnight on Sunday May 5. Four people were arrested following his murder but three have since been released on police bail.

Stabbing incident in Derry
A man is in a “serious condition” in hospital following a stabbing incident in Londonderry in the early hours of this morning. The attack happened at a house in the Glenvale area of the city and was reported to police at around 3.30am.

Man Arrested Following Two Stabbing Incidents In Belfast
A 27-year-old man has been arrested following two stabbing incidents in Belfast city centre. The injuries to both victims are not believed to be life-threatening. Inspector Donna McGrady said police were alerted at about 1.15am by a member of the public on Bedford Street to a fight going on in the area.

Man Released On Bail Over College Stabbing Incident
A man, 20, who was arrested in connection with a stabbing at a college in Belfast has been released on bail. Police said the man was released pending further enquiries. A 26-year-old is currently in hospital following the incident at Belfast Metropolitan College on Thursday. His condition is described as serious but stable.
