Killyleagh stabbing motive sought

Police are trying to establish a motive for the stabbing of a man in Co Down on Thursday.

The victim, named locally as Freddie McMaster, was at home with his partner and duaghter in Kerry Drive, Killyleagh in the early hours of the morning when a fire was spotted at the front door.

Mr McMaster immediately extinguished the blaze before noticing a man hiding in a hedge. He chased the man into a nearby alleyway, where he was stabbed in the stomach however his injuries are not thought to be serious.

The victim’s nine-year-old duaghter, who was in the house at the time of the incident, was left shocked but uninjured in the incident.

Two men die in separate stabbing incidents
Two people have been killed in separate stabbing incidents in Northern Ireland over the weekend. Hugh McKibben, 51, of Main Street in Carrowdore died in a stabbing incident at a house on Inisharoan Court about midnight on Sunday May 5. Four people were arrested following his murder but three have since been released on police bail.

Man Released On Bail Over College Stabbing Incident
A man, 20, who was arrested in connection with a stabbing at a college in Belfast has been released on bail. Police said the man was released pending further enquiries. A 26-year-old is currently in hospital following the incident at Belfast Metropolitan College on Thursday. His condition is described as serious but stable.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred in the Foyle Street area of L'Derry on Sunday, 13 October. The incident took place shortly after 1:40 AM when a 27-year-old man was stabbed multiple times inside a local shop.

Man Arrested Over Stabbing Incident In Belfast
Two men have been taken to hospital and two dogs have been injured in a stabbing incident in Belfast City Centre. Emergency services attended the scene at a flat in the Bradbury Place area on Thursday, 05 October. A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Man Arrested In Connection With Newry Stabbing Incident
A 44-year-old man has been arrested by officers investigating a stabbing in Newry. At approximately 5pm on Monday, 18 September, police received a report that a man, aged in his 30s, had been stabbed inside a property in the Richmond Court area of the city.
