Viagra-type drugs seized in Belfast raid
A major haul of almost 10,000 Viagra-type drugs have been seized in north Belfast today.
The ‘Vigora’ tablets, which have a street value of around £50,000, were seized as part of a joint operation between Medicine Enforcement Officers from the Department of Health and the PSNI.
This is the first time these particular tables, which were manufactured in India, have been found in Northern Ireland. The tablets contain sildenafil which is a prescription only medicine and is the active ingredient in Viagra.
Health Minister Shaun Woodward said: "This haul has been a major blow to those people whose only aim is to make money in this illegal trade without any consideration for the consequences to the public. All Viagra-type tablets are prescription only medicines and should only be taken on advice from a GP. These tablets are unlicensed and their quality is unproven yet we know they would have been sold to the general public."
It is believed that the drugs were manufactured in India, delivered to a warehouse in London before being sent on to Belfast.

Drugs Seized During Search In South Belfast
Police have seized drugs during a search in the Carryduff area of south Belfast on Tuesday, 13 June. A large amount of white powder, suspected to be a Class A drug, was discovered, as well as a liquid substance and orange powder, believed to be illegal drugs, were also found. The PSNI also seized fake tablets, scales, ampoules and rolls of labels.

Large Amount Of Diazepam Tablets Stolen In East Belfast
The PSNI have issued a warning after a large amount of diazepam tablets were stolen from commercial premises in east Belfast. The incident happened in the Prince Regent Road area on Monday, 17 July. A small amount of the tablets were discovered in the Orby Close area and police believe they may be linked to the burglary.

Police seize drug tablets in Belfast
Police in south Belfast have recovered what is believed to be a substantial quantity of ecstasy tablets. A police spokesperson said that the tablets had an estimated street value of around £50,000. The tablets were recovered after police spoke to the occupants of a car in Glengall Street at around 6pm on Sunday.
