Web chatroom link in missing Coleraine girl case

A Coleraine teenager who has been missing from her home for over a week had been visiting internet chat rooms before she disappeared, police have said.

Louise Sheils, 15, disappeared from her home in Garvagh, Co Londonderry, on Wednesday 3 August.

The teenager, who has been in contact with her family once since she left, was apparently last spotted in Cork.

Detective Inspector Gary Crawford said: “We have established that she hitch-hiked to Maghera and then to Cookstown. That was the last confirmed sighting of Louise. Lousie's family and everybody else is particularly worried about her.

"She sent a letter to her mum from Cork. Louise is obviously running out of money. She has possibly had to sleep rough at some stage and the longer she stays away she is becoming more and more susceptible."

Louise is described as 5`2" tall, of slim build, with long blonde hair, blue eyes, and when last seen was wearing a pink baseball cap, navy jogging bottoms, a navy jumper, a grey and purple fleece, and trainers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact any Garda Siochana ststion or the PSNI 028 7034 4122.
