Hoax device left at home of SDLP member
Army Technical Officers carried out a controlled explosion at the home of Londonderry SDLP member, Pat Ramsey, last night.
It is understood that Mr Ramsey's wife discovered a suspicious device in the garden of their home in Meenan Drive, in the Bogside area of the city at around 10.30pm.
When officers arrived to examine the object, they were attacked by youths throwing paint bombs. The object was later declared a hoax.
This is the second time Mr Ramsey's house has been targeted this year.
Police in Derry have appealed for information on the attack, and have called for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or have any information, which may be of use to detectives, to contact them on 0845 600 8000 or on 0800 555 111.
