Two stabbed in separate weekend attacks

A 25-year-old man has been treated in hospital following an attack in Londonderry at the weekend.

The attack happened in Pennethorn Court in the Waterside area of the city at around 12.30am on Sunday.

It is understood that the victim was jumped from behind and stabbed three times in the back.

He was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital where he received treatment for his injuries, and has since been discharged.

Meanwhile in a separate incident, a 49-year-old woman has been stabbed during an attack near Belfast.

The attack happened at around 2pm yesterday, after the woman got off a train in Dunmurray.

As the woman was walking from the station, a man, who was travelling on the same train, stopped in front of her to tie his shoe lace.

When she passed him, she felt a sharp thump on her back as the man ran off.

She was taken to hospital where she was treated for a minor stab wound to her shoulder.

The attacker was wearing a light blue coat, blue jeans with white trainers and was wearing a light-coloured baseball cap.

Police have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the attack or who may have any information in connection to it, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Three people stabbed in two separate attacks
A man has been arrested after two teenagers were stabbed at a flat in Co Down. The attack, which took place at Dufferin Avenue in Bangor shortly before 10pm on Monday, saw a girl in her early teens wounded in the thigh while a man in his late teens was stabbed in the arms and body.

PSNI Attacked After Man Shot In Markets
A police officer has been hurt after coming under attack as part of a probe into the shooting of a man in the Markets area of Belfast. However, the officer only received minor injuries which are not thought to be life threatening and did not require hospital treatment.

Two men shot in paramilitary style attacks in west Belfast
Two men have been shot in the ankles in separate paramilitary-style attacks in west Belfast. The first man was shot in both ankles around 8.30pm in Norglen Parade on Wednesday night and was treated in hospital. The second attack happened in Vere Foster Walk around 10.40pm and the man was also shot in both ankles and sent to hospital for treatment.

Two Men Injured In Separate Shooting Attacks
A man has been shot just outside west Belfast. The attack happened in the Glenkeen area of Poleglass at around 10.20pm on Wednesday, 01 June. The victim, aged in his 30s, was shot in the leg. He is currently being treated in hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Sinn Féin MLA Jennifer McCann condemned the attack.
