Two rescued after arson attack
Two people have been rescued after a suspected arson attack on a block of flats in west Belfast this morning.
The Fire and Rescue Service were called to the flats at Navan green in the Andersonstown area of the city at around 3.30am today.
It is understood that a wheelie bin had been set on fire in a hallway of the building, trapping a man and a woman in two separate flats.
The pair were treated at the scene for the effects of smoke inhalation, and their condition is not though to be life threatening.
Police in west Belfast are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and a spokesperson for the PSNI has said that they are treating the blaze as malicious.

Eight Injured In Dunmurry Fire
Eight people have been injured in a fire at flats in Dunmurry. Six police officers were treated for the effects of smoke inhalation and two other people were taken to hospital. One person was found unconscious at the scene of the fire in a flat at the Seymour Hill Estate. He was rescued by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.

A young couple have been rescued from a fire in a block of flats in West Belfast. It is understood the fire began in a first-floor flat at Carrigart Avenue, in Lenadoon at around 2am yesterday morning.

Five people have been rescued after a fire broke out at a set of flats in Newry, Co Down. The blaze happened at around 6.30pm on Thursday at St Mary's Street in the town. It is understood the fire started in a mid-terrace house that had been converted into flats.
