Man remanded over city arson attack
A 24-year-old man has appeared in Belfast Magistrates Court charged with arson endangering life, following a fire at a house in the east of the city at the weekend.
Ryan McBride, of Castlereagh Road, was charged with carrying out an arson attack on the home of a Polish family, in the same area on Saturday evening.
Six people were taken to hospital, where they received treatment for the effects of smoke inhalation, however no one was seriously injured during the incident.
McBride was remanded in custody and will reappear before the court next month.

Four Teens Arrested Over Fire At Florence Court
Four teenagers have been arrested in connection with a suspected arson attack on a property at Florence Court estate in Enniskillen. The National Trust house, which had a thatched roof, was set on fire on Thursday at approximately 8.30pm. Four teenage boys, three aged 15 and one aged 14, are currently in police custody.

PSNI Appeal For Information After Cars Set Alight In North Belfast
The PSNI have appealed for information after four cars were set alight in north Belfast. Police say the suspected arson attack happened at around 22:30 on Tuesday night on the Whitewell Road. It is understood no one was injured in the incidents.

Appeal For Information On Suspected Arson Attack
The PSNI in Newtownards have issued an appeal for information following a suspected arson attack at a workshop in the town. Eleven vehicles were extensively damaged in a fire at the workshop on the Glenburn Road area, which was reported to emergency service at around 21:45 on Wednesday 01 March.

House Destroyed In Suspected Arson Attack
Police are investigating a suspected arson attack which destroyed one house and damaged another in Newtownabbey over the weekend. The blaze in the Birchmount area was reported to police at around 2pm on Saturday 13 April.
