Woman flees home after racist threats
A female immigrant and her baby have been forced to flee their home in County Armagh after racist threats were made.
At around 10pm on Saturday evening, three men called to the woman's home in the Gough Avenue area of Armagh.
The men made racist comments to the woman, then ordered her to leave the area immediately.
The gang are described as being aged in their mid 20's and late 30's, between 5'8 and 6' feet tall, and all spoke with local accents.
The Mayor of Armagh, William Irwin, condemned the attack which he described as "thuggish and cowardly behaviour", and added that those responsible were not representative of the people of the city.
He continued: "I would assure the lady that the vast majority of people in Armagh city and district totally condemn this behaviour and support her.
"We hope that the culprits are caught and the full rigours of the law are brought upon them."
Police in Armagh have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have any information in relation to it, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.
