Major Jobs Boost For Belfast
Financial services firm Citigroup have today announced the creation of almost 200 jobs in Belfast.
Citigroup, a leading American software company, today revealed that the 185 jobs will be based at their technology centre at Queen's Island in Belfast, increasing the number of people employed there to 590.
It is understood that the new investment would contribute an additional £21 million to the local economy, and Invest Northern Ireland has offered an additional £3.6 million in financial assistance.
Robert Druskin of Citigroup Corporate and Investment Banking said its Belfast centre has delivered significant benefits to the company's global operations and added that
with the rapid development of the Belfast operation, Citigroup are now in a position to strengthen their presence with a second major investment.
He concluded: "We are confident that through our renewed commitment to this region we will continue to add value both to Citigroup and the NI economy."

Announcing the jobs, Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Arlene Foster welcomed an investment of more than £6m being made by the Proofpoint – a leading security-as-a-service vendor that delivers data protection solutions.
