Murder suspect to be extradited from Hong Kong
A 41-year-old man is to be extradited from Hong Kong in relation to a killing in Northern Ireland nine years ago.
Wong Sui Ching was sought following the murder of 29-year-old Ho Mi Yi, whose body was found in a house at Isoline Street, east Belfast. The part-time waitress had been strangled.
She had been working at a Chinese restaurant 10 miles away in Carrickfergus, County Antrim at the time of her death in June 1998.
PSNI detectives attended the three-day hearing at Hong Kong’s Magistrates Court which ruled Ching will be extradited within the next six weeks.
Seven years ago, a 36-year-old man had been acquitted with the woman’s murder.
