Child shooting case adjourned
The case of a man who was due to appear in court today in connection with the shooting of a five-year-old boy in County Fermanagh has been adjourned for two weeks.
Darragh Somers was shot in the back of the head as he played at St Patrick’s Primary School in Mullanaskea, outside Enniskillen.
Fergus Cleary, aged 72, of Ballydoolagh Road, Garvary, Enniskillen is accused of unlawfully wounding the child and causing him grievous bodily harm.
Darragh spent two months in hospital and underwent two major operations to remove a bullet from a .22 rifle from his head.
The case was adjourned "by consent" this morning.

Pensioner denies shooting Fermanagh child
A pensioner accused of shooting a five-year-old boy in a school playground has today declared his innocence. Fergus Cleary, 72, of Ballydoolagh Road in Garvary, outside Enniskillen has been charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding Darragh Somers.

Marian McGlinchey Cases Adjourned
Two cases of alleged terrorist activity against Old Bailey bomber Marian McGlinchey have been adjourned because she is currently in hospital. Mrs McGlinchey, 58, from west Belfast, is on bail facing charges of providing property, namely a mobile phone, for a terrorist purpose.

Basque Extradition Case Adjourned
Just 20 protesters turned up at Belfast's court complex yesterday as one of the two fugitive Basque activists based in NI continued to fight against extradition, writes Carla Liebana. This preliminary hearing saw Arturo Beñat Villanueva appearing in the city's Crown Court to have his case adjourned.

Cahoon Case Adjourned
The prosecution has prepared its case against Stephen Cahoon, the 36-year-old awaiting trial in the Irish Republic on a charge that he murdered pregnant Londonderry mother of four, Jean Quigley. Ballyshannon District Court was told that a draft of the book of the State evidence is ready.

Murder Trial Adjourned
A high profile murder case has today come to a temporary end. No other details surrounding the move were given in court and the case has now been adjourned until 10 November. The jury hearing the trial of six people charged in connection with the murder of Ballymena teenager Michael McIlveen has been dismissed.
