NI companies unite for London IT contract

Two Northern Ireland-based companies have pulled resources to provide IT software to the London Borough of Newham.

Consilium Technologies was selected by Sx3 as supplier of TASK Contractor software in support of their bid for a contract with the London Borough of Newham.

Following an intensive evaluation, Sx3 chose the TASK solution as it offered the best combination of rich functionality and a modern technology platform, which integrated easily with Sx3.

Licensed for up to 100 concurrent users, the TASK system will be installed on Oracle 8i running on SUN servers supplied by Sx3.

Commenting on their choice, Simon McDonald, Divisional Director of Housing for London Borough of Newham, said: “After extensive market testing we are convinced that the functionality of the product and the flexibility of Consilium will provide the best solutions for both our staff and our customers.”

Formed in 1985, Consilium Technologies provides a full portfolio of software solutions, infrastructure platforms and supporting IT services, which allow UK local authorities to build the eGovernment jigsaw puzzle.

Sx3 has been implementing major IT for the last 20 years, and their range of customers have included Guinness, Standard Life, BBC, and BT.
