Arrests After Couple Cuffed In Robbery
Five men have been arrested after a husband and wife were handcuffed and robbed at their home in Salford last night.
Police were called to Garner Drive, Salford just after 9.20pm on Monday.
They found a man aged 37 with his 34-year-old wife left handcuffed after their home had been robbed.
It is believed a gun had been used to threaten the victims and one offender had hit the woman. Neither suffered any serious injuries, according to police.
Five men aged 20, 20, 23, 29 and 32 were arrested on suspicion of robbery, and today remain in police custody for questioning.
Two men aged 18 and 44 and a 44-year-old woman were all arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They also remain in police custody for questioning.
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Creely, of Greater Manchester Police's Robbery Unit, said: "This was a horrific experience for the occupants but thankfully incidents like this are very rare and I want to reassure the local community we will not tolerate this type of behaviour."
