Man Arrested Following Enfield Murder

Detectives have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in Enfield. Police were called to an address in Southbury Avenue, Enfield, shortly after 11.30pm on Sunday 24 April. On arrival, officers forced entry to the property and discovered a man suffering multiple stab wounds. London Ambulance Service were called and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as Paulo Lutumba, 25, of the Andover Estate, north London. A post-mortem examination at Haringey Mortuary gave cause of death as a stab wound to the heart. A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder - he remains in custody at an east London police station. Enquiries continue.

Appeal Launched Following Homophobic Assault

The Community Safety Unit from Lambeth Borough Police is investigating a homophobic assault that took place on Easter Monday. The incident took place outside Sainsbury's supermarket on Clapham High Street in Clapham, south west London around 12.30am. The victim, a 25 year old man from east London, and his partner became involved in an argument with a male who then punched the victim in the face and ran off, followed by the victim's partner into Bedford Road and was lost in the Solon Estate. The suspect is described as white, aged approximately 30-40 years, with a shaved head and a dark top. The victim was later treated in hospital for minor injuries and released. Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this assault or may know the identity of the alleged assailant.

Five More Charges Following Disorder

A further five people have been charged with offences following the disorder during the student protests in central London on December 9 2010. Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Service's Operation Malone team have charged a number of people with violent disorder. They include Colin Goff, 23, of Upper Elmers End Road, Beckenham, Kent, BR3, and Steven Catchpole, 19, of Summerwood Road, Isleworth, TW7. Both are due to attend City of Westminster Magistrates Court on 9 June 2011. Two 16-year-old males and a 17-year-old male are also charged with violent disorder and will appear at City of Westminster Magistrates court on 24 May 2011. A 15-year-old male and a 16-year-old male both received final warnings for violent disorder.

Seven Charged Following Student Protests
Detectives from Operation Malone have charged seven people in connection with the incidents of disorder seen across central London in November and December of last year. Following a decision by the Crown Prosecution Service, the males were charged with a range of offences, including violent disorder and criminal damage.

Two further terror training suspects remanded
Two further men have been remanded in custody following their arrest on Thursday on terror training charges. Mohamed Hamid, aged 48, of Clapton, east London, faces charges of soliciting murder and providing terror training. The second man, Kibley Da Costa, aged 23, of West Norwood, south-east London, is charged with terror training offences.

Third man arrested in constable killing case
Police investigating the murder of special constable Nisha Patel-Nasri have arrested a third man in connection with their inquiries. A 35-year-old east London man has been taken into custody for questioing. Two men were arrested in connection with the murder of Mrs Patel-Nasri earlier this week.

Police shoot man during anti-terror raid
Police have shot a man during an anti-terrorism raid in east London. The 20-year-old man was shot during the raid at a property in Forestgate in the early hours of Friday morning. He was taken to the Royal London hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. He was later arrested in hospital.

Man Dies In London Stabbing
Police have launched a murder investigation following the fatal stabbing of a man in London. Police were called to the scene at around 2.50am on Saturday to reports of an injured man in Junction Road, Tufnell Park. The London Ambulance Service attended and found a man suffering a stab wound to the neck.
