Dutch Internet Paedophile Sentenced In Wirral
A paedophile that travelled from Holland to a school girl's home in Merseyside has been sentenced to 22 months in prison on Wednesday.
Dutch national Kristian Timmerman travelled from Holland to the home of the Wirral schoolgirl after befriending the 12-year-old on Youtube, and social networking sites over a period of weeks and months.
Speaking on Wednesday morning, a police spokesman said: "He's managed to gain her confidence and trust by manipulating her over the internet and obtained her personal information.
"He used that information to then travel over from Holland on the 18th of April this year." The spokesman explained how Timmerman then climbed over a six foot wall to the family garden and place toys, chocolates and letters under the children's trampoline before making off while the family were asleep.
According to police, "quick thinking" by the girl's mother was crucial in the paedophile's capture.
