Snowdonia Walker Fall Death
A 23-year-old man has fallen 300ft (91.4m) to his death from a mountain in Snowdonia.
The man and his friend, of the same age, had been walking in low mist when he slipped and fell from a gully cliff face on Glyder Fach.
Members of the Ogwen Valley and RAF airlifted the him to hospital at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, where he was confirmed dead.
Chris Lloyd from Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue said the two walkers were seeking a way off the mountain.
"They had found a gully, the eastern gully on the main cliffs, which isn't a descent route.
"One of them slipped and fell some 300ft. Sadly it was a fatal fall.
"The two men were reasonably well-equipped, but it was low mist, and greasy underfoot.
"Unfortunately, it was one of those incidents that sometimes happens in the mountains."
