Mountain Rescue Teams Help Stranded Motorists
Some 40 volunteers from three mountain rescue teams have helped police clear a road on the England-Scotland border after around 100 cars became stranded in heavy snow fall.
It is understood the cars became stuck on the A68 due to the speed the snow came down. Police and mountain rescue teams worked for three hours to clear the road, which was blocked in both directions.
Forecasters have warned that more snow is expected to fall throughout Thursday, and have urged drivers to be cautious.
