Council Leader 'Shot Wife Then Turned Gun On Himself'
A council leader shot his wife dead before killing himself, it has been reported.
On Sunday the body of Andrea Johnson, 44, was found in the front garden of a bungalow she lived in with and Keith Johnson, 58, the leader of North Norfolk District Council.
He was later found dead in a back garden nearby.
Det Supt Peter Hornby, who is leading the inquiry, said: "Whilst I understand this is a very shocking incident for the neighbours of the two people involved, I can reassure them that, at this stage, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with it."
Council chairwoman Denise Burke said: "The death of Keith is a tragedy and a massive loss to Cromer and North Norfolk, too.
"Keith has been a real public servant throughout his life and will be sorely missed by the whole community. He was much respected across the political spectrum.
"Our thoughts are with Keith's friends and family at this time."
Mr Johnson, was the former mayor of Cromer, he became Conservative leader of North Norfolk District Council in May 2012.

Warehouse Fire Investigated
An investigation has been launched into the cause of a fire at a warehouse in Deptford on Thursday. London Fire Brigade were called to reports of a fire at an industrial unit at a business park on Trundleys Road. Eight fire engines and 58 firefighters were on site at the height of the blaze.

Police in Scotland have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a woman's body in a caravan on Monday. The body of Carol-Anne Taggart (54) was found at the Pettycur caravan site in Kinghorn. Ms Taggart had been missing since 22 December.

Birmingham City Council Announce £600m In Cuts
Birmingham City Council must make £600m in savings by 2017, with £120m in the next financial year, council bosses have said. This comes after cuts of £62m to the Labour-run authority's 2012-13 budget were voted for in February with warnings that 1,100 jobs could go.
