Stirling Robber Targeted Women
A man from Stirling is due in court over charges of robberies targeting women.
The 36-year-old will appear at Stirling Sheriff Court following three separate incidents which took place during one week in Stirling.
A 69-year-old woman was robbed of more than £100 while a 23 and a 47-year-old woman both had two-figure sums of money stolen.
All were left visibly upset by the attacks, in which they sustained minor injuries.
The robberies happened on 31 January in Polmaise Avenue, 1 February in Bruce Street and on 7 February at Forthside Bridge.
Rapist Jailed After Taped Conversation
A man who raped a child has been jailed over a conversation recorded by his victim twenty years later.
Tattooist William Walker of Colchester sexually abused his victim from the age of five until she was 11.
He has been found guilty of rape and seven indecent assaults from 1984 to 1989.
The investigation started when the victim confronted Walker in July 2010 and recorded their conversation on an iPhone in her pocket.
She then handed the phone in to police.
The End For Page Three?
The Sun newspaper’s 'page three' feature could be about to become a thing of the past, according to a tweet from owner Rupert Murdoch.
A campaign group have described the feature, in which young, female glamour models pose topless, as out of date and sexist.
In response to a tweet which described page three as "so last century", Mr Murdoch replied: "You maybe right, don't know but considering. Perhaps halfway house with glamorous fashionistas."
The feature has been a Sun staple for over 40 years, so dropping it would be seen as a major development in the paper’s stance.
