Seven Arrested In Manchester Drug Raids

Seven people have been charged with drug offences in Trafford and South Manchester.

The arrests followed warrants issued at eight addresses across the area on Thursday 9 May 2013.

Lance Francis, 30, of Ancroft Street in Hulme was charged with four counts of supplying class A drugs (cocaine and heroin).

Lincoln Lawson, 38, of Alexandra Road in Moss Side was charged with supplying class A drugs (heroin).

Mahinder Singh, 24, of Cranbourne Road in Old Trafford, was charged with supplying class B drugs (cannabis) and offering to supply class A drugs (cocaine).

Harminder Singhlar, 25, of Albion Street in Old Trafford was charged with two counts of supplying class A drugs (cocaine).

Rumal Grossman, 19, of Norton Street in Old Trafford was charged with four counts of supplying class A drugs (heroin and cocaine).

George Singh, 49, of Princess Court, Cornbrook Park Road, Old Trafford, was charged with two counts of supplying class A drugs (heroin).

Christopher Markey, 39, of Princess Court, Cornbrook Park Road, Old Trafford was charged with five counts of supplying class A drugs (heroin).

All are due to appear at Manchester Magistrate's Court on Friday 10 May 2013.

South Wales Traffic Victim Named

A 32-year-old man who died following in a road traffic collision in South Wales has been named as Adrian Bryn Evans.

The incident occurred at 09:57 on Monday 6 May on the A4229 at Porthcawl.

Mr Evans sustained fatal injuries after his silver coloured Honda Civic Type-R collided with a red Kia Sorrento on the roundabout at the junction of the A4106 Newton-Nottage road.

Cabbie Helps Apprehend Thieves

A taxi driver has helped West Midlands police track a suspect involved in a robbery at a petrol station in Solihull.

The driver was sitting outside the BP garage on Chester Road, Kingshurst, at 21:30 when two people entered the shop and threatened staff.

One told staff to handover cash, while the other kept guard at the door.

Both fled with a haul of cigarettes but were confronted outside by the taxi driver who tried apprehending one of the suspects.

The robber struggled free but the driver followed him in his taxi into nearby Ellice Drive and called 999.

A man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of robbery and assaulting a police officer after one of the constables was punched during a struggle.

'Dangerous' Medication Stolen In Liverpool

Merseyside Police is appealing for help after potentially dangerous medication was stolen from a dental surgery in Liverpool.

Vials of Botox, labelled Azalure and Dysport, quantities of filler used for cosmetic procedures and syringes of tooth whitening substances were stolen in the break-in at the Hunts Cross Dental Centre in Mackets Lane.

A couple of boxes of Diazepam tablets and a box of the antibiotic Moxicillin were also taken in the incident, which happened between 17.30 on Wednesday 8 May and 08:00 on Thursday 9 May.

A quantity of Obtura needles, which are used with dental machinery, were also taken.

It is also thought that some computers have been stolen from the centre.

Police have urged anyone coming across these items to hand them into the nearest police station, health centre or pharmacy or call 101 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Further Six Arrested In No Deal Operation In Birmingham
A further six people have been arrested as part of an ongoing operation targeting suspected drug dealers in Birmingham. Police carried out a series of dawn raids on Thursday 24 September, arresting a 17-year-old man, two 19-year-olds and three men aged 21, 26 and 47.

54 arrested in swoop on suspected drug dealers
Sellers of the Big Issue were among 54 people arrested by Merseyside Police today in a crackdown on drug dealing in Liverpool city centre. Operation Manton targeted suspected drug dealers and drug users and 50 men and four women were arrested following a 15-month long investigation by Merseyside Police into drug dealing on the city's streets.

23 Charged With Drug Offences Following Raids
More than 20 people have been charged with drug offences following a number of raids carried out in London, Gravesend, Dover and Deal. A total of 23 people were arrested during twenty raids carried out over three days. The suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 52, have all been charged in connection with the supply of class A drugs.

Government Crackdown On Drink And Drug Driving
A package of measures to tackle drink and drug driving has been set out by Transport Secretary Philip Hammond. Improved testing equipment to detect drink and drug drivers will be given the green light and key changes made to streamline enforcement of both offences.

Second Class stamps to rise to 21p
The price of a basic Second Class postage will rise 1p to 21p from April 1 next year, but the price of a First class stamp will remain unchanged, it has been announced today. First Class prices for heavier letters will fall but there will be increases for heavier Second Class mail.
