Man Pushed Over Balcony At Derren Brown Show
A man attending a show by Derren Brown was pushed from the upper balcony of the Palace Theatre in London's West End, by his wife, as a joke.
Tweeting after the show Brown described how the man managed to grab a lighting rig around the upper circle, where he held on until rescued by other audience members.
It is understood that the woman has pushed her husband "as a joke", but it is claimed that the man was lucky to fall where he did as a few feet over there was no lighting rig.
The balcony is some 45ft up and the theatre says in its website that patrons should not sit there if they are scared of heights.
Peter Capaldi Named As New Dr Who
Peter Capaldi, best known for his role in the political satire The Thick Of It, has been announced as the new Doctor Who.
The 55-year-old Glasgow-born actor will be the 12th to play the Doctor, replacing Matt Smith.
"It's so wonderful not to keep this secret any longer, but it's been so fantastic," he said after the news was revealed on a live BBC One show.
Cannabis Plants Found In Council Flower Pots
Cannabis plants have been discovered growing in street flower displays in Newport.
Over 20 cannabis plants were discovered to be growing in the on-street displays, however, the plants were harvested and removed before police could examine them.
Councillors are now checking CCTV footage to ascertain who may have been responsible.

Chat show veteran Parkinson moves to ITV
ITV has signed up BBC chat show veteran Michael Parkinson on a two-year deal, it has emerged today. Mr Parkinson, who has hosted his eponymously-titled programme for 18 years, said that he decided to move to commercial broadcaster ITV after his Saturday night primetime slot was threatened by the return of Match of the Day.

Presenting the show since 2004 the now 38-year-old became the stations longest serving breakfast show host in 2009. Announcing the news, he said: "We're off. I wanted to let you know. A 37-year-old British man has been stabbed to death while on holiday in the US. Paul Ritch, from Cardiff, was stabbed in the heart as he tried to intervene in an incident in a street in New Jersey in the early hours of Sunday morning.
