Police Granted Warrant To Hold Terror Suspects
Police have been granted more time to question two men suspected of terrorism offences relating to activities in Syria.
Two 21-year-old men were arrested on Monday at Heathrow Airport after arriving on a flight from Istanbul. It is understood that the men are from Handsworth in Birmingham.
Magistrates granted West Midlands Police a warrant to hold the men until 20 January.

Police have been granted more time to continue questioning 14 men arrested in a series of anti-terror raids conducted in London at the weekend. The Metropolitan Police have been granted warrants to continue questioning three suspects until Wednesday, while the other eleven men can be questioned until Friday.

Arrests After Couple Cuffed In Robbery
Five men have been arrested after a husband and wife were handcuffed and robbed at their home in Salford last night. Police were called to Garner Drive, Salford just after 9.20pm on Monday. They found a man aged 37 with his 34-year-old wife left handcuffed after their home had been robbed.

Kent Police, in partnership with officers from the Metropolitan Police Service, have arrested two men in East London on suspicion of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. On 3 May, Kent Police began a search for Michael Wheatley, 55, who had failed to return to HMP Standford Hill after being released on temporary licence.

Police investigating an alleged plot to blow up transatlantic flights have been granted more time to question five suspects. Police have been granted a further seven days to continue questioning them. They have already been held for 21 days. Under the new anti-terror legislation, terror suspects can be held for questioning for 28 days.
