Cyclist Traffic Signals Launched In East London
Bow Roundabout in east London has become the first site to trial low-level traffic lights for cyclists.
Transport for London, which hope to introduce the lights at 11 other sites, say that 80% of cyclists are in favour of their use.
The new signals give cyclists an early start ahead f traffic.
In addition to the lights, Cycle Superhighway 2, between Aldgate and Bow, will be upgraded to incorporate cycle-only lanes at five key junctions along the route and there will be full or part-segregated lanes for the rest of the route.
